How old are the top-ranked pages?

We have analyzed how old are the top-ranked pages on Google.

We used over 2 million random keywords and picked the data of the Top 10 pages for each of them. The answer that we got showed us that all of the Top 10 ranked pages were over 2 years old. The pages that are ranked  #1 have an average age of at least 3 years. Actually, only 22% of the pages that are ranked in the Top 10 Google search results were designed within 1 year. So, the next thing that we did was look at the percentage of the pages that are less than 1 year old. Clearly, the search engine results from DC SEO Agency pages were dominated by the “old” pages.

How much time does it take for a page to rank in Google?

To give you the answer, we used 2 million randomly selected pages that were firstly crawled by Ahrefs a year ago.

Then we followed the location history of each page for any keyword it’s ranked for.

We saw that only 5.7% of all the pages we analyzed ranked Top 10 in the search results for dc seo agency one keyword within 1 year of the keyword implementation.

Pages with huge Domain Rating performed far better than those with low Domain Rating. That isn’t a surprise, as it is well known that Domain Rating is a big factor when it comes to improving your Google rankings.

Then we took a better look at those 5.7% “more fortunate” pages to see how they got from nowhere to the Top 10 search results.

They have managed to accomplish that in roughly 61 to 182 days.

You might think that, on a regular basis, it takes a page anywhere from 2 to 6 months to rank in Google’s Top 10 search results.

That is not the case at all - this data provides different results. It shows that 5.7% of the pages that were “lucky” ranked in the Top 10 within a year, while around 95% of all the pages that we have analyzed didn’t manage to get to the Top 10 within that time period.

Only 5.7% of all freshly updated pages will get to the Top 10 search results on Google within 1 year or less.

We have also re-calculated the number based on the monthly search volume of the keywords. We noticed that only 0.3% of pages ranked in the Top 10 for a high-volume keyword in less than a year. The characteristics of these 5.7% pages that were “ more fortunate” to rank this high have been broken down by search volume of the keyword that they ranked for.

Clearly, you can rank for the low-volume keywords very quickly, but it takes almost a year to get to the Top 10 position for high-volume keywords.

Let us remind you that this data covers only 5.7% of the “more fortunate” pages that were lucky to rank amongst Top 10 search results after a year. Many other pages (94.3%) didn’t perform that good dc seo agency.

What is the meaning of our studies?

Did we provide you with a definitive answer to the question from the beginning of the article?

The answer is “Not completely”.

But, we have done something better - we did show you that nearly 95% of newly published pages don’t rank in Top 10 search results within a year.

However, those “lucky” pages that did manage to get there within 2-6 months, how did they do it? The real reason that they were able to rank so high isn’t luck - it’s excellent knowledge and hard work of the SEO experts that worked on those pages.
